Leaps of Faith

August Writing Prompt

Okay, so most of us don’t wait to run off with a bag full of cash before we leap in blind faith. At least, I hope not. But sometimes, leaping from our comfort zones can feel as if we might have an ax-carrying madman on our tails, right?

Because leaping in faith is scary.

It’s diving into the unknown and facing uncertainty and unfamiliarity. Anything could go wrong.

But everything could go right.

Writing always feels like a leap of faith to me. Facing that blank page and finding self-belief can be intimidating and scary. I don’t know about you, but I often battle my inner fears when it comes time to hit that “publish” button.

Things don’t always go as we hoped or expected, and that’s okay because deep down, we all know that life is only half lived when lived in fear.

Sometimes, you have to let go to find your way back to the root of your soul — that’s how I see leaps of faith.

Leaps of faith are necessary.

And rewarding.

  • It means that you fully surrender to all expectations that you and others have ever had of yourself.
  • It means that you allow yourself to start anew and feel completely free.
  • It means that you allow room for self-discovery, passion, and love.
  • And that you won’t allow societal norms, fears, and external opinions to withhold you from the life you want.

How do you feel about taking leaps of faith? How do you know when the time is right to take the plunge? Is there a time in your life when you’ve allowed yourself to let go and trust in your life path? Blindly?

I want to know.

I hope you enjoy this month’s writing prompt:
